Another problem with the music business

Here's another thing that is wrong with the music business. I made a list of my favorite albums of 2007 on another blog a little over a month ago. On that list, my favorite album of 2007 was Powderfinger's "Dream Days at the Hotel Existence". I borrowed that album from a friend and was looking to buy my own copy.

I can not find this album anywhere in Canada or on the internet for a reasonable price. What do I mean by reasonable? Well for most new albums, I pay less than $14. For a rarer album I'd probably be willing to go as high as $20. I have not found this album on the internet for less than $35, and I just to quoted $44 from my local music store.

These are not reasonable prices. Here you have a consumer who wants to buy an album, and you're not letting him do so for a reasonable price. What is wrong with this picture?
